Frogbit

Frogbit (Limnobium laevigatum) is a floating aquatic plant prized for its decorative appearance and ease of care. Native to North and South America, it features small, round leaves that float on the water’s surface, connected to long, thin stems. Frogbit plants can quickly cover the surface of an aquarium, providing shade and shelter for fish while helping to reduce algae growth by competing for nutrients. They reproduce by sending out runners that produce new plants, making them an excellent choice for natural-looking aquarium setups. Frogbit prefers moderate to bright indirect light and can thrive in a wide range of water conditions. Regular removal of excess growth helps prevent overcrowding and maintains water quality.
